2007 Farm Bill

November 2005, Austin, Texas

The current farm bill is set to expire in 2006 and discussions concerning the structure and implications of the 2007 farm bill have begun. The objective of this summit will be to identify and evaluate the current economic drivers that will ultimately shape the policy that is written by the 2007 farm bill.

Rural Affairs

Date and Location to be Determined

Rural development issues continue to increase in the grass roots and legislative arenas. Out-migration, reduced employment opportunities, and environmental concerns influence the well-being of rural communities. The overall goal of this Summit entails addressing issues and proposing action plans that will sustain rural communities for some time to come.
