Agricultural Mini-Summits May 1994 - Lubbock, Temple, Dallas, Weslaco, & Odessa, TX

These five Mini-Summits are the next phase of the massive statewide effort to anticipate the future of Texas agriculture in the 21st century and to help define that future. The process began with the identification of 15 high-priority issues that will impact Texas agriculture in the years ahead at the October 1993 Texas Agricultural Summit. These smaller, regional Mini-Summits allowed more individuals with a stake in the future of Texas agriculture to participate and propose solutions to the high-priority issues identified. Participants included agribusiness leaders, crop and livestock producers, consumers, environmental and natural resources advocates, government officials and educators throughout Texas. These proposed solutions will become part of a comprehensive action plan designed to set the course for Texas agriculture in the 21st century.
